Metal & PTFE Bellow Mechanical Seals — When to Upgrade from Rubber Bellows
Welded metal bellow and PTFE bellow seals eliminate the elastomer secondary sealing element, so they handle high-temperature hydrocarbons, steam, thermal cycling and aggressive chemicals that would destroy a rubber bellows. If your service sits inside 150 °C and moderate pressure on water, HVAC or light chemical duty, start with our Elastomer Bellow Seals — they are lower-cost and equally reliable for that envelope. Move up to metal or PTFE bellow seals only when temperature, chemistry or thermal cycling exceed elastomer limits.
