    Elastomer Bellow Mechanical Seals — Rubber Bellows Pump Seal Replacements

    Astra Seals manufactures elastomer bellow mechanical seals — also called rubber bellow seals, elastomer bellows pump seals or rubber bellows shaft seals — engineered as direct dimensional and performance replacements for John Crane Type 21, Type 6A and Type 502, Sepco 500 series, EagleBurgmann MG1 / MG12, Flowserve BX / BXR, Chesterton 155 and AESSEAL P04. The molded elastomer bellows replaces the springs and dynamic O‑ring of a conventional pusher seal, so the seal keeps face contact even in dirty, fibrous or slurry-laden water where springs would clog.

    Every AS elastomer bellow seal is built to ISO 3069, DIN 24960 and GB 6556 shaft envelopes, so you can drop it into existing centrifugal, circulator, submersible, booster and end-suction pumps without modification. Shaft sizes run from 12 mm to 120 mm. Standard face pairs are Silicon Carbide vs Carbon, SiC vs SiC and Tungsten Carbide vs TC; elastomer options include NBR, EPDM, Viton (FKM), Aflas and FFKM for chemical, potable water, HVAC, wastewater and light-duty oil service.

    Choosing the right elastomer bellow seal

    Match the model to the service: for general HVAC and clean-water duty on standardized OEM pumps, the AS 2100 unitized cartridge is the fastest install. For balanced service up to 40 bar, specify the AS 502. For fibrous municipal wastewater the AS FBD pairs with SiC/SiC faces, and for two-sided isolation on hazardous fluids the double-end AS SDM runs back-to-back with a buffer/barrier fluid.
